On October 7, 2024, UPLB-BIOMECH held an online meeting to introduce their latest project, funded by the DOST-PCAARRD. The meeting was hosted by BIOMECH representatives, including Engr. Marck Ferdie Eusebio, Engr. Ezra Ryza R. Noel, Engr. Yara Ayman A. El Adawi, and Engr. John Paul G. Tobias. Mr. Rodell Papa attended the meeting on behalf of DOST-FPRDI, reflecting the strong collaborative efforts of various sectors in agriculture and fisheries.
The project aims to create a compendium of mechanization technologies developed by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Research and Development Institutes (RDIs), and local manufacturers across the Philippines. This initiative seeks to promote these technologies and make them more accessible to stakeholders in the agricultural and fisheries sectors. By compiling these innovations, UPLB-BIOMECH hopes to promote wider adoption and utilization of mechanization technologies in various fields of agriculture and fisheries.
Another goal of this project is the creation of a centralized database that ensures continuous information dissemination. This database will serve as a resource to access the latest technological advancements in mechanization. By promoting these technologies, the project aims to contribute to the modernization of the country’s agriculture and fisheries industries.
With UPLB-BIOMECH’s leadership and DOST-FPRDI’s support, this project holds great promise in advancing agricultural and fisheries mechanization in the Philippines.
