The University of the Philippines Los Baños Center for Agri-Fisheries and Biosystems Mechanization (UPLB-BIOMECH) took part in the Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Research, Development, and Extension Network (AFMechRDEN) Conference held in Angeles, Pampanga. This year’s conference centered on the theme: “Advancing Agriculture and Fisheries through Mechanization: Embracing Technological Innovation for a Sustainable Future.”

The UPLB-BIOMECH delegation was led by Engr. Ronel S. Pangan, Ph.D., who serves as the Vice Chair of the AFMechRDEN Network. His leadership underscored the importance of collaboration among academic institutions, research bodies, and other stakeholders to propel advancements in mechanized solutions for agriculture and fisheries.

The AFMechRDEN Conference featured an engaging lineup of activities, including:

Paper Presentations: Researchers and innovators from various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Research and Development Institutions (RDIs) shared their latest findings and innovations in agricultural and fisheries mechanization.

Poster Presentations: Visual exhibits highlighted cutting-edge research and technological breakthroughs aimed at sustainability and efficiency in the agricultural sector.

These presentations provided a platform for sharing insights, fostering partnerships, and promoting innovative solutions to challenges in agriculture and fisheries.
