The UPLB-BIOMECH Compendium Project team, headed by Engr. Marck Ferdie Eusebio accompanied by Engr. Ezra Ryza Noel, visited several RDIs on August 12, 2024. The visited RDIs are Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA), DA Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA BAR), Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), and National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI).
The primary objective of this venture was to engage in discussions on the Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Technologies Compendium Project which aims to gather, document, and promote the latest advancements in agricultural and fisheries technologies from various sources, including universities, research institutes, and local manufacturers.
Moreover, the project aims to minimize duplication of technologies which will save resources, and will pave a way for future collaborations between HEIs/SUCs, RDIs, and local manufacturers.
The compendium project ultimately seeks to assist researchers, potential end-users, and technology developers across the country in promoting advancements and improving productivity within the agricultural and fisheries industry. Throughout the discussions, significant emphasis was placed on the need to enhance cooperation among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Research and Development Institutions (RDIs), and Private Institutions. The project’s achievements will be instrumental in enhancing agricultural and fisheries productivity and streamlining production processes in these sectors.
