ABSTRACT
The development and evaluation of practical close-loop biomass conversion processes and models, and biomass by-products by the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) enhanced the utilization of farm biomass to agriculture and small-scale industry.
The close-loop biomass conversion technologies developed enhanced the processing and utilization of biomass resources by producing valuable line products such as organic nutrients/fertilizers, soil conditioners, feed supplements, and microbial inoculants for agriculture, and energy and other line products for industry. The generated technologies provide additional income and job opportunities to rural communities and reducing environmental impacts and health hazards.
