On February 27, 2024, the UPLB-BIOMECH project visited Ubay Machineries in Ubay, Bohol. The purpose of visit is to discuss the details of the DOST-PCAARRD-funded project “Compendium of Developed Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Technologies in the Philippines”
Ubay Machineries is a manufacturing and fabrication company that provides services to farmers in the Northern part of the island. They specialize in the production and sale of machinery that greatly helps to speed up agriculture and fishery production, thereby meeting the island’s food supply demand. Their machines are instrumental in ensuring that the farmers can produce food efficiently and in large quantities, which ultimately helps to sustain the island’s population.
The visit was led by Engr. Marck Ferdie V. Eusebio (University Extension Specialist I), along with Engr. John Paul G. Tobias (Project Technical Assistant III). The participants included Mr. Dann Paulo Jubelag (Sales Supervisor) and Mr. Silver Ian Salaum (Production Manager) both from Ubay Machineries.
The project was discussed as a collection of machinery for Agriculture and fishery, developed by their institution and presented as a catalog. This catalog will help them promote their products effectively.
