The UPLB-BIOMECH strengthen connections with UP Visayas Miag-ao Campus, Iloilo on November 15, 2023 and discuss the DOST-PCAARRD-funded project “Compendium of Developed Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Technologies in the Philippines” in support of the AFMech Law of 2013.
The visiting team led by Engr. Marck Ferdie Eusebio and project technical assistant, Engr. Ezra Ryza Noel discussed the upcoming activities of AFMechRDE Network and the compendium project. The vital role of universities with locally developed fisheries mechanization technologies which the compendium project focuses will help researchers, interested end-users, and developers across the country in promotion, and increasing the productivity and income of the agri-fisheries sector.
The team was welcomed by Mr. Roi Lagon and Ms. Jomielyn Catendrilla of the UPV Fisheries Technology Business Incubation (FTBI), and Ms. Theresa Bantiquete and Mr. Reynold Tan of the UPV Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO). In-depth discussion between the teams contributes on the advancement of the compendium development.
Throughout the conversations, emphasis was placed on the significance of enhancing cooperation among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Research and Development Institutions (RDIs), and Private Institutions. The success of the project will contribute to the increase in productivity of the agri-fisheries sector and streamline the efficiency of agri-fisheries production activities.
