UPLB-BIOMECH team visited Agri-suerte Machineries at Tagbilaran, Bohol on the 26th day of February 2024. The objective of the visit was to engage in discussions regarding the specifics of the DOST-PCAARRD-funded project titled “Compendium of Developed Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Technologies in the Philippines.”
Agri-suerte Machineries is a manufacturing and fabrication company that provides services to farmers in the Southern part of the island. They specialize in the production and sale of machinery that greatly helps to speed up agriculture and fishery production, thereby meeting the island’s food supply demand. Their machines are instrumental in ensuring that the farmers can produce food efficiently and in large quantities, which ultimately helps to sustain the island’s population.
The meeting was led by Engr. Marck Ferdie V. Eusebio (University Extension Specialist I) together with Engr. John Paul G. Tobias ( Project Technical Assistant III), both from the UPLB-BIOMECH team. Mr. Enrique L. Lao represented Agri-suerte Machineries as its proprietor. The discussion revolved with the concept of creating a catalog of machinery developed by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Research and Development Institutes (RDIs), and Private Companies, including local manufacturers and fabricators. This catalog would serve as a platform to showcase their products and could potentially foster collaboration with other institutions in the area.
