The University of the Philippines Los Baños-Center for Agri-fisheries and Biosystems Mechanization (UPLB-BIOMECH) visited the Bohol Island State University (BISU) on February 27, 2024. The purpose of the visit is to discuss the details of the DOST-PCAARRD-funded project “Compendium of Developed Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Technologies in the Philippines” and to initiate discussions regarding the HEI Consultative Meeting concluded last November 2023.

The discussion was led by Engr. Marck Ferdie V. Eusebio (University Extension Specialist I) and Engr. John Paul Tobias (Project Technical Assistant III), both from UPLB-BIOMECH. Dr. Marietta C. Macalolot (Bilar Campus Director) represented BISU along with Ms. Anabel J. Intong (Dean), Engr. Severino Salera Jr., Engr. Erwin G. Ludevese, and Engr. Jamel M. Salo from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Throughout the conversation, the Compendium Project was introduced as a catalog of developed agri-fisheries technologies. It includes detailed information on these technologies, aiming to assist Higher Education Institutions/State Universities and Colleges (HEIs/SUCs) in promoting the commercialization of their technologies. Also, the team discussed the outcomes of the previous HEI Consultative Meeting held on November 28-29, 2023, to encourage the Bohol Island State University to join in on research topics that match their interests.
