The UPLB-BIOMECH established a connection with Central Mindanao University (CMU), Maramag, Bukidnon last November 21, 2023 to discuss the DOST-PCAARRD-funded project “Compendium of Developed Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Technologies in the Philippines” in support of the AFMech Law of 2013.
The visiting team led by Engr. Marck Ferdie Eusebio and Project Technical Assistant V, Engr. Ezra Ryza Noel, discussed the upcoming events organized by the AFMechRDE Network and the compendium project. Highlighting the importance of universities hosting locally developed fisheries mechanization technologies, the compendium project seeks to assist researchers, potential end-users, and developers across the country in promoting advancements and improving productivity and income within the agricultural and fisheries industry.
The team was welcomed by CMU led by College of Engineering Dean Dr. Rex Yadao. Thorough conversations among the teams play a pivotal role in driving forward the development of the compendium.
Throughout the conversations, there was significant emphasis on the need to enhance cooperation among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Research and Development Institutions (RDIs), and Private Institutions. The project’s achievements will be instrumental in enhancing agricultural and fisheries productivity and streamlining production processes in these sectors.
