On March 7, 2024, the UPLB-BIOMECH team, headed by Engr. Ezra Ryza Noel and accompanied by Engr. Yara Ayman A. El Adawi, visited Romblon State University Odiongan Campus. The distinguished attendees from Romblon State University included Eddie G. Fetalvero, Ph.D. (Vice President for Research, Extension, Development, and Innovation), Jerome Gacu (Director for Research, Development, and Innovation, Romblon State University), Engr. Elbert M. Garcia (ABE Department Chair), Engr. Jane Faith Falceso, and Engr. Emie Morada Fajel.

The primary objective of this venture was to engage discussions for the Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Technologies Compendium Project. This forward-thinking initiative aims to gather, document, and promote the latest advancements in agricultural and fisheries technologies from various sources, including universities, research institutes, and local manufacturers.

A key highlight of the Compendium Project is the creation of a dynamic online database. This platform will be accessible to focal persons from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Research, Development, and Innovation Offices (RDIS), and local manufacturers. It ensures real-time updates with the latest technologies, facilitating widespread access and utilization.

The UPLB-BIOMECH team also took the opportunity to delve into the Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Agenda during the HEI Consultative Meeting, hosted by PHilMech in Angeles, Pampanga. Encouraging HEIs to select researchable areas or collaborate with like-minded institutions, the team motivated the submission of proposals. PHilMech and UPLB-BIOMECH pledged their endorsement of selected proposals to various funding agencies, thereby catalyzing research endeavors.
