The UPLB Center for Agri-Fisheries and Biosystems Mechanization (UPLB-BIOMECH) visits the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) at Kabacan, Cotabato on November 22, 2023 to discuss the DOST-PCAARRD-funded project “Compendium of Developed Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Technologies in the Philippines” in support of the AFMech Law of 2013.

The project team led by University Extension Specialist I, Engr. Marck Ferdie Eusebio and Project Technical Assistant V, Engr. Ezra Ryza Noel, engaged in discussions regarding the upcoming activities of the AFMechRDE Network and associated projects. They underscored the crucial contribution of universities with indigenous agricultural and fisheries mechanization technologies towards the creation of a compendium, aimed at aiding researchers, prospective end-users, and developers nationwide.

The team was welcomed by the USM President Dr. Francisco Gil N. Garcia and the team of College of Engineering and Information Technology and Department of ABE chairperson, Engr. Joy Sharon Gamido together with Engr. Alvin John Villanueva. The dialogue between the institutions yielded valuable insights that guarantee smooth project implementation and ongoing support from USM to AFMechRDEN and its upcoming endeavors.

The project’s success will significantly contribute to enhancing productivity in the agri-fisheries sector and optimizing the efficiency of agricultural and fisheries production processes.
