The UPLB Center for Agri-Fisheries and Biosystems Mechanization (UPLB-BIOMECH) visits the Central Philippine University (CPU) at Jaro, Iloilo City on November 16, 2023 to discuss the DOST-PCAARRD-funded project “Compendium of Developed Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Technologies in the Philippines” in support of the AFMech Law of 2013. Moreover, the possible agreement between the institutions was also discussed.

The upcoming activities of AFMechRDE Network and the projects were discussed by project staff Engr. Marck Ferdie Eusebio and project technical assistant, Engr. Ezra Ryza Noel. The vital role of universities with locally developed agricultural and fisheries mechanization technologies in the development of a compendium that will help researchers, interested end-users, and developers across the country were emphasized during the discourse.

The team was welcomed by Dr. Aries Roda Romallosa, Chairperson of the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Environmental Management under the College of Agriculture, Resources and Environmental Sciences. Discussion between the team and Dr. Romallosa provided key insights that ensured the ease of the project implementation as well as continuous support of CPU to the AFMechRDEN and its upcoming activities.

The success of the project will altogether take part in the increase in productivity of the agri-fisheries sector and streamline the efficiency of agri-fisheries production activities.
