The UPLB Center for Agri-Fisheries and Biosystems Mechanization (UPLB-BIOMECH) participated in the recent conduct of the 20th PSABE IV-A Regional Convention last April 11, 2024 at Lipa City Convention Center, Batangas and hosted by the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE) – Region IV-A Chapter.
Agricultural Engineers across the region gathered in the most delegated PSABE IV-A Regional Convention up to date. The participants were welcomed by PSABE IV-A Chapter President Engr. Eugenio C. Castro, Jr., and Vice President Dr. Christian Paul M. Ariola. Warm messages of support were also delivered by Hon. Eric Africa, Mayor of Lipa City, Director Fidel L. Libao, OIC Regional Executive Director of DA RFO IV-A and the Office of Batangas Governor, Hon. Hermilando Mandanas.
Dr. Ronaldo Saludes of IABE-CEAT, UPLB, Dr. Rossana Marie Amongo of UPLB, Engr. Crestituto Mangaoang of PSABE, Dr. Paolo Rommel Sanchez of UPLB and Engr. Jaykie Homer Hernandez of FREEN Works Construction and Engineering Services, presented the innovations and breakthroughs of their research relating to dynamic food systems for sustainable agricultural development.
The PSABE IV-A President Engr. Castro, Jr., PSABE IV-A Treasurer ASEAN Engr. Ronel S. Pangan, PhD, and the respective Provincial Chapter presidents also presented the updates and accomplishments during their term. The convention also became an avenue to conduct the election and induction of the new set of PSABE Region IV-A Officers and Provincial Chapter Officers.
The successful program concluded with deepest gratitude from Dr. Pangan, PSABE IV-A Treasurer and UPLB BIOMECH Director. Dr. Pangan acknowledged the number of participants during this year’s PSABE regional convention and is hopeful for more participants for the next coming years.
