On August 22, 2024, the Compendium of Agricultural Technologies project team from UPLB BIOMECH visited P.I Farms Products, Inc. and Supercast Foundry and Machinery Corp. as part of their ongoing efforts to compile a comprehensive collection of agricultural technologies. Led by Engr. Marck Ferdie V. Eusebio, the team, which included PTAs Engr. Ezra Ryza R. Noel, Engr. John Paul G. Tobias, and Engr. Yara Ayman A. El Adawi, engaged in discussions with both companies. Representing P.I Farms Products, Inc. and Supercast Foundry Machinery Corp. were Mr. Wilfredo Salazar as Product Manager, and Mr. Jerry Hui as President, respectively.

The compendium project documents a wide range of agricultural technologies developed by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Research and Development Institutes (RDIs), and local manufacturers throughout the Philippines. During the meeting, the project team and representatives from P.I Farms Products, Inc. and Supercast Foundry and Machinery Corp. discussed the scope of technologies to be included.

Another topic was the inclusion of an online database, a feature both parties agreed would greatly enhance the accessibility and usability of the compendium. This digital platform will allow users to easily search for and retrieve information on specific technologies, making it a valuable tool for anyone involved in the agricultural sector. The database will serve as a bridge between technology developers and end-users, facilitating the adoption of innovative practices that can improve productivity and sustainability in agriculture.

The UPLB BIOMECH team also emphasized the importance of promoting the technologies developed by local manufacturers. By featuring these innovations in the compendium, the project aims to give them the visibility they deserve, encouraging wider adoption and further development.

This visit marks a step forward in the Compendium of Agricultural Technologies project, reflecting UPLB BIOMECH’s commitment to agricultural advancement through collaboration and knowledge-sharing. The insights and agreements reached during this meeting will undoubtedly contribute to the creation of a valuable resource that will benefit the Philippine agricultural sector for years to come.
